Our Watershed Manager for 44 years, Marilyn Snider, is retiring effective May 31, 2022.  Our watershed has hired Cook, Flatt and Strobel Engineers to do administrative work for us in the future.  Our office and phone number will continue to be the same.  However, no one will be in the office much of the time.  Leave a message and someone will be back with you.Thank you for your contact.

The Delaware Watershed has been approved by NRCS for reaffirming feasibility of the Elk Creek PL-566 Work Plan.  EA Engineering, Science and Technology Inc has completed that update.  The Delaware Watershed has applied for further funding to continue work on the Elk Creek designing of the two priority sites:  Site 4 and Site 12.  That application has been approved.  Sometime in the future a firm will be hired to work on the 2019 consolidated appropriations act proposal.

The Delaware Watershed has been approved by NRCS for reaffirming feasibility of the Grasshopper-Coal Creeks PL-566 Work Plan.  Wood Environment and Infrastructure Solutions, Inc completed the reaffirm feasibility for Grasshopper-Coal Creeks in November 2019.  The two priority sites GHC 21 and 28A will be pursued along with the rest of unconstructed GHC sites.

In brief, you should know the following about us: The Delaware Watershed Joint District No. 10 was established through application to the Kansas Secretary of State in 1956, approved in 1957, and has been providing flood control and grade stabilization protection through the construction of watershed dams since 1977. Structures we build are in our General Plan approved by the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Water Resources,

Current Projects 2022:


Site C-58, Permit has been received from DWR and funding has been approved by DOC.  Site A-99 has also had partial funding approved.  These two sites were awarded to Ohlsen Construction, Netawaka, Kansas.
Rehab work to start in the summer of 2022.
